How does live illustration work?
Each live illustration takes about 5 to 10 minutes. On average I create around 7 to 10 illustrations per hour, depending on the number of people in each drawing. It takes 5 minutes per person. If you are expecting a larger audience, we can adapt the format or create a plan together to make sure as many guests as possible can enjoy the experience.

time per live portrait illustration
One portrait on A5 paper takes about 5–7 minutes. Drawing two people in one live illustration sketch takes around 10 minutes. In 1 hour I can draw around 10-12 persons.
cost and pricing for live illustration
My starting rate for live illustration is €735,- (excluding 9% VAT) for 3 hours of live illustration. After that, an hourly rate of €245 (excluding 9% VAT) applies. Travel costs are calculated separately, and for longer distances additional fees may apply.
Illustrations on Paper & Products
Illustrations are normally created on A5 paper, but they can also be made on products like perfume bottles, canvas bags, or product packaging. Contact me to explore the possibilities and make live illustration a unique part of your event!

It is possible to order paper with your logo from me. This way, you get more marketing exposure when the illustrations are shared on social media or displayed at someone’s home. In black and white, this is an additional €8.50 per hour.
Travel & Location
Based in Utrecht, Netherlands, I’m available for events across the country and internationally. I frequently work in Belgium and Germany, and I’m open to traveling to other countries to bring live illustration to your event!
how to make a booking
Please fill out the contact form below or email me at info@byelenore.com with the following details: your event date, the number of hours you would like to book, the expected number of guests, your company information, and the event location. I will then check my availability and provide a quote. Once the quote is approved, your live illustration booking will be confirmed. Please note that my schedule fills up quickly with events, so early bookings are recommended.

Most frequent questions and answers
Live illustration costs €245 per hour, excluding 9% VAT. I apply a starting rate of €735, excluding VAT, for all events of 3 hours or less. Travel costs from Utrecht, usually by train, are added, as well as any printing costs for personalised paper if requested.
In 1 hour I can draw 10 people. I calculate this based on the number of people, not per illustration. Illustrating a couple takes twice as much time as illustrating one person.
An illustration of 1 person takes about 5 minutes. For 2 people it takes between 8 and 10 minutes, and for a family between 10 and 15 minutes.
I bring all my drawing and painting materials myself, the only thing I need on location is a table and a chair to work at. Preferably at normal sitting height, although this can sometimes be tricky depending on the venue, in that case it’s good to discuss the options together. It is also important that there is enough lighting. If that is difficult, I can bring my own lighting in consultation.
I am based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, but I travel worldwide for work. I have worked at events in Belgium and Germany and I am open to events even further away.
Both are possible. If you would like a physical keepsake, I usually work on A5 paper, but we can decide on the format together if you prefer something different. Digitally, I work on my iPad Pro and can share the illustrations with guests via email or AirDrop. For a keepsake that people can display at home, paper is perfect, but if you would like guests to use it online, digital is a great option.
Yes, absolutely, however if it rains or if there is strong wind, it is helpful to have an indoor setup available so I can move inside if needed. If your event or wedding takes place outdoors, I appreciate being informed in advance so I can dress accordingly and stay comfortable in cooler weather.
Yes, absolutely! I always love it when guests share photos of me and my work. It’s even better if I can be mentioned. I also always take photos of my own work to share on social media, and of course I will mention the client if desired.
Yes, I can prepare a quote including the costs for illustration, travel, and any personalised paper if desired. At the bottom of the page you will find a contact form where you can fill in your details. I will hold your date for 2 weeks. If another booking request comes in during that time, I will contact you first.
